Join me for a weekend of yoga and rejuvenation, you are invited to let go of daily pressures and come to immerse yourself in nature, yoga, and deep relaxation.

My Retreats are held within the Macedon Ranges at a cute Girl Guides camp surrounded by forest. Minda Killara girl guides is just outside the town of Riddells Creek and 50 km from Melbourne. There are many walking tracks to enjoy nature. There are often sightings of Kangaroos and once we saw a koala!

Accommodation is in shared dorms with 2-3 people in each room. Couples will have their own room. There is also a single occupancy room option.

Receive Ayurvedic Herbal Massage daily, an Ayurvedic medical consultation/constitution analysis with a local Dr Sibi George, relax and unwind with Yoga, Breathing, Yoga Nidra, and Meditation.

$1990 Non AC/ $2120 AC per person includes breakfast and dinner, all classes, and a daily Ayurvedic treatment.

Additional week tour $950-$1125 per person, according to your accommodation choice, excluding lunch and dinner. All taxi fares between towns are included.

Varkala is a beautiful coastal town in Kerala (South India) that is known for its unique 15m high ‘Northern Cliff’ adjacent to the Arabian Sea. There is easy access to the beach for a walk, swim or sunbake. On the cliff-top are many restaurants, cafes, and shops that look over the vast expanse of the ocean. A perfect spot to see the sunset in the evening. There are winding streets leading to the beach where more cafes and restaurants are tucked away.

We will be staying at Savithri Inn. Everyone will have a private cabin and en-suite. Rooms are fitted with Keralan-style furniture. Each cabin has a balcony overlooking the gardens. There is a large free-standing Yoga hall where will have our Yoga classes and meditations.

Ayurvedic treatments will be with Dr Sibi. Dr. Sibi comes from a lineage of 13 generations of Ayurvedic Doctors and has been practising for 37 years. He is passionate about Ayurveda and has a calm, kind demeanour. I studied and did Panchakarma (Ayurvedic cleansing) with Dr Sibi in 2014. He is a well-respected traditional Dr who also runs courses in both Kerala and Dharamshala (North India). Consultation and Massage treatments will be done by his staff at his centre which is a 5 to 10 min walk from our accommodation. Read more about Dr Sibi here.

Optional additional week tour (Additional Cost)

After our retreat, there is an option to travel with me along the coast where you will have the opportunity to:

Visit the nearby coastal town of Kovalam. Swim, relax at a cafe looking over the water, and do some shopping.

Visit to Sivananda Ashram Neyyar Dam. We will have 3 days at the Sivananda Ashram which is located 2 hours from Varkala and 1 hour from Trivandrum Airport. The daily schedule includes 2 meditation and chanting sessions, 2 yoga classes, 1 hour of Karma Yoga, and an hour of Yoga talk. Visit their website for more information here.

Experience a relaxing backwaters cruise along with Kerala’s winding waterways. This is a day boat cruise with a chef on board to cater for you. We will be staying for 2 nights at Orchid Lake View Guest House that over looks the beautiful backwaters. 

Spend a night in Fort Cochin, known for its local art scene. This town also has many gift shops and high-quality clothing stores like Fab India.

Reservation

Places are limited to 11 people. The investment for the Yoga retreat (one week) starts from $1990 which covers airport pick up, accommodation, breakfast and dinner, daily yoga, meditation, an Ayurvedic consultation, daily Ayurvedic massages and treatment (total 7 treatments). If you would like to have additional Ayurvedic treatments during your stay you can pay extra at that time. Airfares are not included.

Travel

You will need to arrange your airfares to arrive at Trivandrum Airport. If you are joining the week tour of Kerala you will fly out of Kochi (Cochin). We will arrange a pick-up from the airport. Be in the Himalayas in India for a true experience of Yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda. Walk with the Tibetan monks in the streets. Circumambulate His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s main temple who is the leader of Mahayana Tibetan Buddhism.

The retreat will be held in Khalue, peaceful region with magnificent views of the Himalayas. During your stay, you will be invited to relax and unwind with Yoga, Ayurveda, Breathing, Yoga Nidra, and Meditation and enjoy walks in nature.

Luxuriate in Ayurvedic treatments, this retreat includes 10 massages or Ayurvedic treatments such as Shirodhara or Kizhi (bundle massage). Also included are two lectures with Dr Siby who will be drawing from his 39 years of experience practising Ayurveda to explain the fundamentals of this ancient herbal science. You will receive an Ayurvedic consultation to determine your body type and address any health concerns. If you would like additional treatments or have Panchakarma treatment this can be arranged at an extra cost.

Learn how to cook some delicious Indian dishes! Included are two Ayurvedic cooking lessons where you can learn how to create some delicious healthy meals and enjoy eating them too!

On the two free days of the retreat we will visit Mc Leod Ganj where you can take a small trek to the nearby waterfalls, visit His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s temple, Tibetan museum, and Tibetan Library, and have free time to go shopping and perhaps eat some momos (Tibetan dumplings)!

Travel

Airfares are not included

You will need to arrange your airfares to arrive at Kangra Airport (This is the nearest airport to Dharamsala).

The best way is to fly into Delhi and get a connecting flight to Kangra. You will be picked up from the airport.

If you are an experienced traveller you can get the overnight AC bus from New Delhi to Mc Leod Ganj.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel a partial refund may be granted. This will be the retreat fee minus the minimum cost of the retreat (accommodations etc) plus a $200 administration and advertising fee will be charged.

A refund may also be granted through your travel insurance policy.

Further Travel After the Retreat

If you would like to travel after the retreat you may organise this through a separate travel agent. Some students will be visiting Rishikesh and the Taj Mahal, we can discuss this as a group so people can travel together.
